Step 1 Member Registration

To buy and/ or sell whisky in our auction, you must first register to become a member with Asia Whisky Auction. There is a one-off, non-refundable registration fee of HKD 50. This registration process is to ensure the authenticity of users and to avoid illegitimate bidding.

Step 2 Live Auctions

After the registration and log in process, you would be able to view and participate in our monthly auctions.

Reminders regarding the upcoming auction would be sent to registered users via email.

Step 3 Placing Your Bids

To place your bid, please click on the lot that you want to bid, then you will be directed to the specific lot page. Type in the maximum bid amount in the box “Enter Maximum Bid” and click “Place Bid”. Asia Whisky Auction will then automatically increase your bid incrementally according to the table below until the amount reaches your maximum bid. Notification email will be sent to you when you are out-bid.

Current Bidding Price is within the following range : Bid Increment

HKD 50 – 99 : HKD10

HKD 100 - 499 : HKD 25

HKD 500 - 999 : HKD 50

HKD 1,000 - 4999 : HKD 100

HKD 5,000 – 9,999 : HKD 200

HKD 10,000 – 24,999 : HKD 250

HKD 25,000 – 49,999 : HKD 500

HKD 50,000 – 249,999 : HKD 1,000

HKD 250,000 – 499,999 : HKD 2,500

HKD500,000+ : HKD 5,000

On the last date of Monthly Auction, Auction is set to be ended from 8pm (GMT + 8). However, the auction end time would be extended by further 10 minutes if there is any bid placed in the last 10 minutes of the auction. This “anti-sniping” measure is applied to ensure that no user is outbid by others unfairly. This 10-minute extension process would be continued until 12 midnight.

Please be reminded that 10% Buyer commission will be applied to the hammer price. We may initiate promotions from time to time. These will be advertised upon our website from time to time.

Step 4 Payment

Notification email would be sent to you if you have won an item. There is a link in the email to guide you through the payment process, in which you will be asked to choose the payment and delivery method. We accept bank transfer, FPS, credit card payment, and PayMe. Surcharge of 3.5% and 1.2% will be applied to payment using credit card and PayMe respectively.

Step 5 Shipping

Upon the receipt of payment from you, Asia Whisky Auction would arrange the delivery. Please kindly check the Shipping & Insurance page before bidding to ensure that we can deliver to your location and the related shipping costs. Please kindly note that you will be responsible for any local taxes, duties or any other requirements for your shipment.

Asia Whisky Auction team does our utmost to ensure your bottles arrive at you safely, but we cannot be held responsible for the breakage or loss on any uninsured delivery. To protect you against any loss from broken or lost items in transit, insurance (at standard rate of 3% of the hammer price plus commission) is automatically included in that payment process. Please untick the box if you do not need the insurance service.

Or you could pick up the won bottle from our office directly. This option is available in the checkout process. Please kindly make appointment with our team through the link in the winning notice email.

Or if you prefer to store your bottles with us to gather larger quantities before the shipping arrangement, we are delight to provide you 90-day storage for free after the bottle is won. This option can be made in the checkout process. HKD10 would be charged per day after the 90-day free storage period.
